[ARCHIVED] Police investigate deadly shooting incident

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police continue to investigate an evening shooting incident that left one man dead.


Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Norfolk police responded to a gunshot disturbance in the 1500 block of Halstead Avenue.  Upon arrival, police discovered two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a residence.  Medics pronounced one victim dead on scene.  The second victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.


Police will release the deceased man’s identity after his next of kin is properly notified.  Following the preliminary investigation, the remains will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause of death.
