NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have reclassified the undetermined death investigation from Saturday morning on Bayview Boulevard as a homicide.
Shortly after 6 a.m., dispatchers received a call for first responders to check on the welfare of a 36-year-old woman living in the 1600 block of East Bayview Boulevard. When they arrived, they found Sophan Torn inside her home deceased.
Detectives initially classified her death as undetermined; however, they reclassified the investigation as a homicide and arrested her husband, David M. Tackett, 40, in Henrico County Saturday afternoon without incident.
Tackett is currently being held in Henrico County with no bond on a second degree murder charge.
